You've heard of Natural Law right . Do you know what it means ? A lot of people promote natural law.
Parents. Educators. Even Poets Sometimes lawmakers and courts..
In our modern technical world some people thiink of Natural Law, the law of nature, sort of as the law of survival -
or the food chain. However this is not what it means. Animals live by natural physical law, instinct, biological drive, survival.
Humans alone have moral responsibility for humans alone are owed the right of human dignity. Natural law takes two forms.
Natual physical law is about the material world, the tangible stuff of life.
Natural Law in the sense of justice refers to Natural Moral Law.
Natural (moral) Law is about how humans are different than other aniimals. Natural Law is how human persons are obliged to act, becuase unlike all other living creatures Human Beings alone have INTELLECT (reason) and WILL (volition,capacity to act). Because Humans are rational they can learn to act and behave in a just and fair way to other humans.
The basis for all justice is how humans discern their nature as provided by the Author of Life. Treating each other according to the common good. This is the Natural Law.
It can be determined by reason using logic and principle.
It can be known and practiced through faith.
